Has viewport orbiting changed since closed beta?
It was really nice then and now it seems really... weird, and different, and i can't seem to find any settings to change the way orbiting works.

Orbiting now works as in ZBrush, the camera orbits around the last point you clicked on or painted on your mesh. Also, it is now restricted by default. You can change this setting through the 2 icons in the main toolbar.

ah okay... in zbrush, i usually do "rotate on y axis" instead of all axes. is there any way i can do this in painter? it makes things waaaaay nicer to paint/sculpt :)

thanks for the info - orbiting feels a bit weird, when you did not know the above

Yeah Jerc, i was playing around some more today, the ability to constrain the rotation of orbit to a specific axis would be amazing (to get a feel for how this works in zbrush, load your tool and hit the transform label at the top, and change the rotation axis from all to "y"). It's really nice to sculpt and paint with that rotation.
