tiff (16 bits max) -- Export preset problem
Hello,

We are exporting Maps with the tiff export preset and somehow it's exporting as 8 bits instead of 16. Also the Alpha channel is pre-multiplied.

Any idea?

We really need to have 16bits maps, the Normal map is one of the main reason for this, otherwise it's too jagged at 8bits.

I checked the export for Tiff and the normal map is exporting as 16 bit. However, I exported normal map that was baked. Did you create a normal map channel in your project?
No I don't have a Normal Map channel. I'm using the Unity 5 (Standard Metallic) preset which uses an Height map conversion.
My Normal map is coming from xNormal.

Also what I don't get is that ALL the maps I'm exporting with this preset are 8bits.

Whatever the 16bits preset I choose I always get 8bits maps.

This is what I'm using:

Base Color: sRGB8
Height: L32F
Roughness: L8
Metallic: L8
Emissive: sRGB8


The Metallic and Normal maps should be 16bits no?

Oh well, we're going back to TGA 8 bits

HI,

The issue is that the Unity plugin is using the CPU substance engine. The CPU engine doesn't support 16 bit textures.
