I can't play mods anymore! not even with GenLauncher. Does anyone know the reason and its solution?

as for this, need more info than that.
what does the game do when you try to run it?
does it load base zh and not the mods, does it crash on start up etc.

Yea, more info needed. "I can't play with mods" doesn't explain, where the issue may be. No crash report? No error log? Nothing? What does GenLauncher say? Does it give an error message? Does it do anything? Does it even start? Elaborate a little bit on your issue, so people can actually try to help you.

So I can't load and play the various mods that are out there for Zero Hour

Failed to create a test symbolic link. Without the ability to create symbolic links, GenLaucher will not work...if I launch GenLauncher it gives me this warning (much longer. I only wrote the first part)

The base game works great (without mods)

One question. You run the game on Steam? In my case GenLauncher refused to go with Steam, so I copied the whole game (both in fact, Generals & Zero Hour) to a folder outside Steam, even outside Program Files and run GenLauncher from there. Try that, since it's GenLaunbcher, that makes your life harder, and not the game itself. I guess it doesn't work well with Steam in your case (and in mine).
symbolic link error, of that bring us to.
What operating system do you have? or file system, as Genlauncher will only work on a NTFS file system.
Also if you do have an NTFS file system Run Genlauncher as Admin.

I have to try and see how it goes! I put everything in an external folder
