Command & Conquer™ Generals Zero Hour

Command & Conquer™ Generals Zero Hour

FPS ISSUE
I'm playing the Contra X Beta mod on the Steam version, although the computer specs are good, when I change the value from 30 fps to 60 in the skirmish.ini file in the documents folder, the game speed setting in the game setup lobby automatically comes to whatever fps value I type. This makes the game unplayable because if I set the fps value to 30, it seems as if the screen refresh rate is very slow during the game and all units move very slowly and the lag is obvious. If I set the value to 60 fps, the game becomes very fast and this time the game becomes ridiculous because everything moves very fast, and even at this fps value, it seems to me that there is a little bit of a lag problem. My question is, what settings need to be made to play the game completely fluently and at normal speed, I ask the experts to share detailed step-by-step information

The more AI in a match the more lag there will be.
The bigger the map the more lag.
The more detailed the map the more lag. (there is an object limit map assets + faction structures and units)
Playing a bloated mod that inherently lags, there will be lag.

basically, don't play with a large number of AI's if playing a mod and keep the map simple.

There's nothing you can do about it because the game captured at 30 fps even if you launch it at 60 fps you will see that it will be super fast, if you wanna play it without the side effect then you have to play multiplayer

So this thread is basically "I'm overclocking the game to twice the normal speed and the engine can't handle it". Well, duh. Don't do that. This is a 30fps game. :steamfacepalm:

We have entered the year 2025 and it is incredible why EA Games still does not make a fluent remake that is compatible with today's dynamics and graphics of this game and does not have any problems like this. Many people love the Generals series, why are they still not starting a new remake game development yet

Really? You thnk it's "incredible" that EA doesn't go back and dig into the ancient internals of a 20 year old game that hardcodes all its timings to the framerate, to upgrade it? For something as utterly inconsequentional as frame rate, too, that has no impact at all on the actual gameplay?

No, sorry, but that's just you being unrealistic. No company in the world will do upgrades like that on a 20 year old game unless they're doing a full remaster. And if they do more remasters, Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 would be first, anyway.

Why is simple
there is little to no market/profit in the RTS market these days.
It doesn't matter what settings I setup. I tried all options, all resolutions. The menu is fine but as soon as I start a skirmish FPS won't succeed 16. It's super slow. Doesn't matter what I do, 16 FPS on every map with 0 units (right at the start). What causes this?

This game is so old it does barely need any computing power from my pc. It is a skirmish mode issue only. Multiplayer runs with unlimited fps capped only by the screen.

I found it myself. The skirmish.ini was set to 15.....
