Game just wont start on Windows 11

Hey Guys i cant start Generals Zero. It always says i need directx 8.1 or higher. But i must have it as other games also need it...

Didn't work for me. I'm on Win10. Is there another file that's causing it possibly?

You can try to run the .exe in compatibility mode with Windows 7. I don't know if it will help, but it worked for me.

I tried running the .exe in compatibility mode with windows 7. I didn't seem to work until i removed this .dll file.

I just got the game and had the same issue... start it up and error pops up and shuts the game down.....

SIMPLE TO FIX
you don't need to manually change anything, go into properties....

verify your files. it'll find 1 error.. it will automatically download the fix.

open up the game and again and it will start up NO ISSUE!

Tried this four times just to make sure it worked

Worked every time.
