FIx the Game !!!

You Released this on Steam again with zero fix for modern hardware. Not everyone like using some third party software to make the game playable. The publisher should fix the game and at least give us a steam online multiplayer feature.

1. Genpatcher
2. Play in a lobby with only 3 letter names (it's dumb as hell but it does work to lower the crash rate)
3. Download better maps (a lot of the default ones are broken in some way which causes some of the lag and crash's)
4. Use a reliable tool for multiplayer be it cnc online or radmin (don't use hamachi that thing causes missmatchs)
5. stop playing on 8p maps with 7 ai's and complaining the games laggy.

as for them fixing it, they lost the source code for the game years ago so that's not gonna happen, most of the issues are engine related, either deal with the issues, or apply the fix's most of the big mods have already got fix's for a lot of the default issues built in.

on the engine fix's there is two total reworks of the game engine itself already in the works to fix it all Open Sage and Thyme, Thyme being farther along.

me and my friend tried using either Radmin/Hamachi, but he loads into the game and i don't. he can see my bar loaded but i don't see his loaded and his game can load into the match but mine doesn't. any help/advice?

Agreed, the publisher needs to fix the game if they are charging for it. You should not need to use Genpatcher. Actually, they will never fix the game if people keep using Genpatcher rather than making EA fix it.

Installed Generals and Zero Hour games, encountered the same issue.

Did the GenPatcher 1.07c applied fixes then Installed the Gentool. Running Windows 10.
Stuck on the loading screen, only now it's white instead of black.
Uninstalled / Reinstalled / Applied Antivirus exclusions / Allowed in BitDefender to access Documents.
App is not responsive.
One time I had luck opening and playing it after restarting the PC. Once you exit the game and trying to open again it's stuck again on loading/splash screen. PC restarts don't work anymore.

You had only 1 Job, Steam!
Why do you sell a game that can't even load?

I bought the game, and it loads perfectly. No patches, no 3rd party software, just install, and play the game.

Not sure what the fuss is all about when I bought the game on March 11 I was able to play generals and ZH our with no patches or fixes and it runs fine and installed Gen Patcher - always check the properties of the Gen Patched application if it's blocked and then unblocked it, then I also installed Gen Launcher and mods and didn't have any issues on texture, crashing already have 30 hours into the game and doing challenges and campaign no crashes.

Most of the time anti-virus also blocks the game or delete some files due to false detection which can cause the game to crash or encounter random issues.

Update:
I solved the Issue. Now it starts at all times. I checked about running the game from a clean install without the 3rd party patching and it works too. (Even without Generals installed)

How:
My clue was when running the game quickly after a restart it would open fine.
But, not If I would wait a few extra seconds.
Also, even after starting the the game, once exiting it won't be able to open again.

So I started turning off my startup apps one by one and restarting the pc until I figured which one caused the issue.
In my case it was an Audio Driver's EQ called Nahimic2.

In Win 10 go to Settings > Apps > Startup.

Alright, let's have some fun.

Not seeing the issue with modern hardware for this game. Running with 0 Modifications and no outside clients to keep it stable. Maybe its your hardware not the software?

So what I'm reading here is that I should just avoid EA games from now on. On Linux with proton, the game starts and gets to the menu, but takes no inputs. I can't do anything. Pretty menu though, totally worth the $$.
