Do mods work with Steam version

yes, use GenLauncher, its a mod manager and makes it really easy to run mods.

I tried installing CNC shockwave through mod launcher and the textures are black and pink like resources are missing not being loaded, any ideas?

yes all mods have some kind of bugs cause of the steam update... i think the mod creators will update as well

Use GenPatcher first!
And you will have to have both Generals AND Zero Hour installed for GenPatcher to work.
Install the fix/patch for Windows 10 and 11, anything else you want.

Then switch to using GenLauncher, install the Shockwave mod through that and should work!

Note, that you need to RUN both Generals and Zero Hour for GenPatcher to find and apply patches.

I've installed GenLauncher and it works on vanilla with all setting changes like Camera height but as soon as I install any mod the Skirmish start always causes a CTD.
BTW I can use the EA version of C&C Generals ZH with the exact same setup and it runs fine, but the Steam version always CTDs

also i downloaded mod called generals rise of the reds all textures were in black and pink had any solution ?
