Gentool

Did somebody try Gentool for having widescreen support? Is it working?

Probably needs updating for steam version, trying to migrate fixes from origin one, i'll edit the post with more info if i succeed

I've been trying to get it to work but genpatcher and gentool doesn't work for me. It gives me an error saying that the game wasn't found for genpatcher and manually installing gentool's dll doesn't work either.

It worked for me with both Generals and Zero Hour. Using Version 2.06.

the updated toolbar for the base game isnt working for me, it does in Zero Hour however

I had the same issue. Re-installing both games and opening them first before installing the gentool fixed it for me.

When I install Gentools, I get a black screen on launch. All I want is Zero Hour vanilla but with better resolution / better zoom out, any help?

All I did was install the games normally on Steam and ran them first. Then I downloaded the 2.06. GenPatcher and let it automatically do its thing.

It did complain that it didn't recognize the version of the game, but it still found the install location and documents folder by itself. I didn't need to set anything.

After it installed everything, I ran the game but it just kind of froze on the initial startup window. I didn't use task manager to end it, but tried to close it instead where it told me some error occured.

Then I ran it again and it just worked. This happened exactly the same for both Generals and Zero Hour. Also, it's worth mentioning that I tried a skirmish map and the first one I played was just a black screen with the construction yard (or whatever it's called) showing. But, I quit and chose a new map and then it worked fine. So either it was a map issue or something about the GenPatcher.

More than that, I can say that I did nothing manually.

both genpatcher and gentool are originally worked for origin only, but because of the ultimate collection are now out of steam, both of these needed to be updated for steam version, soo you have to wait until they updated it

yes i tried and it works . Had to disable Nvidia overlay for it to work.
So u do these steps
1. install games
2. disable NVIDIA overlay
3. run both games once and exit
4. downlaod genpatcher
5. run as admin and ignore all warnings that game instalation folder is not from a legit source
6. patch and run the game . Select your resolution (for me is 2k)
