gate in the mine

hi, I recently started mining ores instead of buying them and because of that, I started wondering what is the door/gate that´s in the mine for or if it could be opened. I searched if anyone else asked this before and couldn´t find anything

I also tried to open it, didn't find a way. However, since there's not really much space behind the gate, I assume it might be just decorative or accessible after a future update.
