Guild Meeting (possible spoilers)

Who did you guys choose at the guild meeting: Ranophel or Saguna?

There are some good arguments for both, so it's really just a matter of who's the slightly better choice

Ranophel has the experience, but I think he's more closed minded, (it's my way or the highway) and acts more like a noble who looks down upon the common people. However, if he didn't loan the money to you, you wouldn't have been able to progress in the story to make your shop your very own.

Saguna does not have experience leading anything, just the experience as a business owner and the fact that most people know and like her. She's willing to make changes and listen to other people for advice. She's also more open to having competition within the guild and open to using magic. If it wasn't for her vouching for you to Ranophel, he wouldn't have lent you the money to start your own business.

I guess I'm asking because I'm curious if choosing between them will end up deciding if Gorlock will be fought with magic or with sheer army size and strength... especially since I haven't even bothered to get any warrior slaves from the Hill of the Ancestors. I'm fine with spoilers in the response (just please be respectful to others).

Unfortunately, I'm struggling to make a decision as well and I am currently voting now. I personally am going with Saguna this game and will go Ranophel next round and see what the difference is

I chose Saguna cuz she had promised to abolish the monopoly regulation, since I slapped Nada's child and I wanted to make my own armors. But due to the giant attack from the north, Saguna decides to stick to the current rule for a while. It is however worth choosing her as she no longer charged me 20000 copper a month. She said he was charging me for no reason.
And yeah, from the begging of the game, Ranophel promises to lend me 40000 and he wants 20000/month for 4 months. It is already freaking high interest rate, and the worst part, he only lends me 25000. He might be an experienced, competent leader and could bring the city a fortune, he basically is a greedy, selfish merchant who prioritizes his own benefit over responsibility. He does not hesitate to threaten and control others using his authority in order to "EARN ONE MORE COIN" in his pocket. That quote from his last promise during the election shows his greedy nature. He also doesn't hesitate to use his own authority to maintain his authority.

And I'm currently on the second run and chose Ranophel this time. He visited my shop the day after the election and he said "he has a work to do" so that he's going to be away from the city for weeks. I haven't found out what works he's up to at the moment; he seems to have run away from the threat of the giant. If he was responsible, authoritarian leader, he wouldn't have run away. I personally am more of a conservative person but I'd prefer Saguna's leadership to Ranophel's.
