Game crashes when I'm trying to join Zombie Shelter.
When I choose class, game crashes without any message. Why that's happening?

There exists a temporary solution -- if you verify your game's files, it will stop crashing for a few games. It seems to be an issue with the edict limit.

I honestly think GoldSRC is just about to die from this game

If you check the log, it says the game is established, connected to the server, but crashes when trying to access the cache. (The memory that you "Pre-caching resources" during your loading). It has to do how to engine works, and seems to be specifically on some PC (I never experienced it on my old PC).
A possible problem is that GoldSRC default has 512 pre-cache slots for resources. Maybe what happens is that the game loads, thought that the ZS resources are loaded (which some of them aren't), and fails when trying to access those nonexistent stuff. But I do not think that for a game with over 500+ AMX mods equivalent resources, Nexon never think about exceeding that slot number. Or, had them?
A general solution is to put "fs_lazy_precache 1" argument in the command line (press ~). It will drop your FPS like crazy but decrease the chance of this happening... maybe. I do not recommend you to put it on just to play ZS, just restart the game and try joining again.
But yeah GoldSRC sucks.

GoldSRC doesn't suck, it's just a product of it's time.
this is a 2008 MMOFPSRPG hybrid game with several games inside of itself including a story mode with spinoffs inside the same game, running on an engine from 1998 that's based off of code from 1996. It's trying it's best

I agree with that.. As you stated, GoldSrc is an engine based on Quake 1, which are all near Millennium products. I say it sucks because it does when compared to newer products quality wise. Even in past few years, when the engine is released for 2 decades, there were still exploit bug that can execute malware (Skybox.TGA). It's just that there are some issues that are so old, but does not affect the gaming experience too much, and Nexon doesn't want to waste time on them. Also testing seems to be inadequate, many bugs that does not affect their profit will not be fixed until some time later.. If anyone remembers when the weapon recommendation came out and you can just press F1 anywhere to buy guns... you know what I mean.

i can't even play the game, every time i tried to launch it, it says runtime error.
