Report a translation problem
To quit from game its Esc > Quit to Shop, then Esc > Quit to Desktop. There is always Alt F4 too.
Have you got anything running in the background? A virus scanner doing a full disk scan, perhaps?
Also do you have any other Unity3D games that show the same problem?

That sounds strange, I can't see any software reason for that happening. However it is common for older Macbooks to experience a faulty spacebar depending on where its pressed due to grim under the spacebar, there are guides online how you may remove and clean it, there are also reports of new Macbooks where the spacebar only works on one particular section of it, in that case I would return it Apple.
If this is not the case then please do let us know and I'll have another look into the issue.
I will look into a possablity of a faulty spacebar for sure. I think I will also look into key mappings, maybe it's not mapped. Thank you for the help.
