You may find out that other can have way more slack when dealing with specific situations.
When mass sleep is available yes, varvara kills everything, but once enemy us immune to sleep and does like 50-90 damage - she may have a problem.
You need to get more expirience with the game.
There will be challenges much more than those strength skill on normal enemies.
I will wait for patches and in the maintime i will also train with different set of cards and characters (Alyosha seems fun to play and also powerful). Have a nice day
For what it's worth, I agree with the other poster; one or two runs per character isn't enough to make a judgement on the balance of the characters. Personally I don't even think the first character is the strongest and I have almost all of the achievements. Also, in this game there are two difficulty types: one that decides whether you can save & quit or replay battles. The second is the Feat of Glory system, kind of like ascension levels in Slay the Spire. Those are the real difficulty modifiers and you need to beat the game to unlock new ones. The game is very forgiving with all characters up to about Glory 3 I'd say.
Also nice day to you and have fun with the game. Remember every loss is just a chance to try different build.
Every char seems to be able to beat koschey with a bit of luck and not too much effort (haven't seen Dobrynya against him yet. )
Varvara maw him down pretty quickly with proper scaling.

I can't really say names of cards in your language You can scale though eye for an eye vs opponents who accomulate high attacks (koschey included). You can scale through vigor for example when you get vigor for displacing opponents, you can scale through power of belograd or whatever this card called, you can scale through stacks of... Head spinning? Vertigo? However this debuff called.
