How to Restore Save From Backup

1) open the saves file folder - go to help section in game and press the button
2) inside the folder there is backups folder, go into it
3) sort all the folders and pick the most recent one
4) copy the GameSave.data file into the main save folder
5) open the game

- if you don't have access to the game, go to the windows search and type: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\AO Games\Idle Fishing

This happened and I lost my progress in the game, but even after doing these steps I was unable to recover it

hmm, can you try disabling the steam cloud when you try to recover the files?
the cloud might think they are outdated and replaces them with your bad save from the cloud
