Snow?

What's the point of unlocking new zones, the 2nd zone (Snow) gives you 33% less silver (money) and ascent point? What I miss?

just means it's a bit harder to get through
it's progression, we trying to get to the finish line and there are some hurdles on the way.

Yeah, but ... once you have caught all the fish there wouldn't it make sense to just go back to Ocean for more fish? Are the fish in the Snow biome worth considerably more so over time it's worth it to stay there?

I can't answer that yet. I'm only just about to unlock the snow zone
I expect the base value of fish in the snow biome to be higher.
and achievements as well, there is a catch 100k fish in the snow zone
maybe later on for pet hunting

edit: i'm there now and indeed it's a bit weird
common fish in snow zone gets me 3Qa
common fish in ocean gets me 4,4Qa

so it seems that Predatory is right, it's better to fish in the ocean
unless you are after the achievements for the snow zone.

For efficiency's sake I think just staying in Ocean is better, to get more silver and gold so you get more upgrades so hopefully, down the line, you have more boosts when you go for the Snow Biome achievements.

It does seem strange, though. Usually these things come as trade-offs, eg. slower but worth more.

there are modifiers though, that change every so often.
in ocean it seems to always stay at 1x
but i've seen different modifers in snow zone.
fish catching rate was 0,67x a little ago and now it's 1,27x
so depending on the modifier it could be nice to switch zones.

Yeah, I thought so too they were floating odds but I wasn't sure now I see it as 1.27 apparently it changes on a daily basis which I like

The multiplier for each zone(except ocean that stays at 1x), stays each day,
So one day the Snow could have 0.5x multiplier, and another day - 1.5x multiplier

That forces you to keep changing where you fish instead of farming one place

I might change how it works later on - together with the new features I'll be adding.

A daily change is a good idea! Though in that case maybe a popup reminder when it changes or on your first startup after it's changed to remind you to pick your fishing spot for today?

And of course, something ingame to TELL you when you first unlock the Snow Biome that the modifier changes daily?
