[SPOILER] Story/Lore & connection to Ender Lilies
So... what's Lily doing in there? simply on a journey to purify all Blight in the world? How did she even get trapped in Land of Origin?

How could Lilac and Nola even purify the entire country and stopped the poison rain? How are we so special that we could do all that?
What's even Gilroy's plan to stop the Blight? Why did he try to stop us from doing the purification?

Well about Lilly i dont know, cant remember if she explains why she is there, maybe you answered your own question.

The purification was done by using the whole magic of the land of origin, no more magic after this, since magic spells came from that source, Nola even says that Humunculi will have shorter lifes now since theres no way to "recharge" them or something like that.

Gilroys plan was to just do the same thing he was doing, maintaining the shield, but he couldnt see he was already being corrupted by the blight, so it was doomed to fail, thats why in one ending Nola can replace him and be trapped there suffering while keeping the shield up.

First adjustment: Lily and Lilia are not the same characters.
Lily - the White Priestess from Lands of End. [Ender Lilies]. In Ender Magnolia she appeared as Traveling Priestess, who researching Blight in Land of Fumes. Lilia - Attuner of Frost Family, always been in Land of Fumes, helping out in Lower and Middle Stratum.

So Gilroy simply didn't know that Lily was a magical girl who can create a magic item that can purify the whole thing? I mean, all he had to do was welcome Lily and BOOM the land would be purified instantly at no cost. except Homunculi's immortality I guess

Wait, I keep mixing them up. the one who got trapped in Land of Origin was Lilia?
So... Lily gave us a magic item to free Lilia... and Lilia gave us a magic item to purify the land...? is that right?

Yep. Aegis Curio at least giving opportunity to purify Lilia on short period of time. According on massive amount of Blight, without Amulet it could be lifethreatening...

Ok I get that Lily is all powerful, but how did Lilia even have the ability to create something that can purify the whole land? just an unexplained asspull?
Cuz she should've done that long ago

My hypothesis is that the condition of the barrier depends on the condition of their keepers. Only Gilroy and Nola had the right to maintain and destroy the barrier. This explains Nola's potential.
As soon as Gilroy became infected with the Blight, his barrier support function became distorted, and now, draining magic from the Lands of Origin, he gradually infected them with Blight. After the infection Lands of Origin, an excess of Fumes went up from the bowels of the earth to the Lower and Middle Stratum, which swirled in the form of clouds - this is how the Rain of Death appeared in this part...
Thus, the barrier function turned into a trap instead of protection, and all the homunculi that sowed chaos in the country began to infect under this dome.
Blight affects the mind. Infected, Gilroy could no longer think properly and assess the situation in the country. All that remained in his head were the last commands that were spinning in his head: "Kill the attuners, hold the barrier... Kill the attuners, hold the barrier..." That's why he's trying to stop us until the very end.

Most likely, Lilia stayed in Lands of Origin, trying to save it from infection when it first started... In the end, she was partially consumed by the fel, and her body became the last stronghold of resistance. Therefore, she cannot leave her native land, otherwise the Lands will simply perish.

What are you talking about? There's no item that can purify the whole land.

We purified the whole land in Ending B after receiving something (Ring?) from Lilia though...
The ring just unlocked Nola's weapon powerup. It literally says so. The parasol that is blocking the rain of death is using magic from the land of origin. We use Nola's weapon to destroy the parasol, so that the magic of origin can cleanse the blight on its own. The reason we don't do this from the beginning is because without the magic of origin we can't recharge homunculi or use magic. And we also didn't know for sure if it would work.

And yeah homunculi will now turn extinct because we turned the parasol off. We don't know how many years they can live without recharging.
Do people just mash through all dialog then make these kinds of threads? I find this really frustrating.

Lilia is another one of these artificial priestess clones, who was placed into the pillar at the bottom of the Land of Origin to slow down the blight. You can wake her up by doing Lily's quest, at which point Lilia says that she can no longer leave her prison, as the Land of Origin's magic is the only thing keeping her alive. Instead, she proposes redirecting the flow of magic (as she's at the source) to blow up both the parasol (the giant dome in the sky) as well as the source of rain of death (the thing that's making everyone blighted). She dies in the explosion, and the magic is all gone, which means the homunculi are now more like humans and have a limited lifespan (as they can't recharge their magic batteries anymore).

This is all in the game, and not in the item descriptions, but literally in the main story path NPC dialog. Why do zoomers mash through all dialog, then look up "STORY EXPLAINED" videos on YouTube? How short is your attention span?
Why are so many people convinced the Ancient Priestess is Lily? Doesn't Magnolia take place almost a hundred years after Lilies? She could just be another clone from another land, no?

- The first game's main theme plays when you talk to her
- She's wearing Ferin's (Umbral Knight) cloak
- She has the true ending item from the first game (Aegis Curio)

almost a hundred years?? where did you get this number? the steam storepage says "decades". we don't exactly know how long though, at the very least it must've been 20-30 years after the events of Ender Lilies ending C takes place. Lily would definitely still be alive by then, and she doesn't even seem that physically aged considering she would have to be a woman in her 30s at least yet she actually looks quite young. maybe all the blight she absorbed from Land's End is slowing down her physical growth?
