ENDER MAGNOLIA: Bloom in the Mist

Declan's Ring is too OP and it breaks the game (edit: on normal, that is)
Was trying out different combinations, and using Declan's Ring with Whirlwind, Eviscerate or any other Pressure ability restores HP for every hit, which makes all encounters in the game trivial, and it kinda ruined the experience for me - I might consider not using this combination at all tbh
I'm not against cheesy strats, but I also like a fair challenge. Also, I don't see any way to make the ring less busted. Making it restore a percentage of damage would render it useless imo
Thoughts?

Edit: gotta admit, after bumping the difficulty, and especially the enemy damage, I don't feel like this combo is that amazing anymore, as you will most likely never outheal the attacks coming your way that nearly oneshot you. Also, it does absolutely nothing against shields
So my final verdict is "really cheesy, but acceptable"

Glad to be of service.

I never actually used that one because I only went for more and more damage with my relics, but I'm surprised it even works with pressure attacks. That's pretty crazy, I feel bad enough for relying so much on Yolvan as it is 😅

Yeah like I get the fact that my post seems like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about broken things in a single player game, but maaan
I just don't feel like limiting myself to only using certain things in a game unless I'm in for a challenge run

I think a simple solution would be to change how it works for pressure abilities so that it's 1 HP every number of hits and leave it unchanged for every other type of homunculi.

Alternatively you have diminishing returns; Initially healing the same as usual but once it hits a soft cap too quickly, it'll change to 1 hp per 2 hits, then 1 hp per 3 hits, and so on until you stop to reset it.

You control the buttons you press.
Think it's unfair? Don't use it. :monokuma_DGR:

I just 100% the game and never even equipped Declan's Ring. That being said, I do not think the devs need to change it. It's a tool that may be used by people struggling with the game, but don't want to mess with the Difficulty Settings. :beastpistol:
I mean. Many answers are don't use it. My answer is ramp up the difficulty to x2 everything and turn off tells. At the end of the day, it's an endgame item. "Cheesy strats" are there for the players that want them. The percentage heal ring is garbage and honestly a waste of a slot. If they were to nerf anything, it would be the attack speed on the drill and the Electro tornados.

It cost 9 slot before upgrade and the heal are not worth it at all, how the hell its too OP.
It's really not that strong when enemies can still kill you in 3-5 hits. Good surviability, but it takes 9 slots for a reason. Those 9 slots could go to damage relics to make fights faster or other defensive relics.
I felt OP by abusing the carapace, Savage counters and Attuner art i-frames or using Lorna's heal art + SP gain relics. There's always a way to "break" the game.
It really doesn't at the higher (at least 1.5 damage) difficulties, since you're almost always in the range of being one-shot. Other than that, there's a ton of ways you can break certain encounters if you're smart, and that's why the combat engine is so good. For example, i got tired of chasing the last boss, so i just killed him with Reibolg and the full debuff build.
I killed him mostly by parrying swords... those AoE parries hurt like a truck.

But it took me a good 20 attempts on hard difficulty (+50% HP). Had Declan's ring, but no pressure attacks. Scythe healing for 8 hp per combo is acceptable

1HP healed per attack at the cost of 9 slot points. It is fine the way it is.
