ENDER MAGNOLIA: Bloom in the Mist

ENDER MAGNOLIA: Bloom in the Mist

What difficulty are you playing on?
I'm curious as how other have found the difficulty of the game. I'm just starting out and finding hard difficulty manageable.
How do find your chosen difficulty matches up to Ender Lilies?

Barely manageable in Normal mode.
I played the whole game on the default hard option and thought it mostly felt about right for what I wanted out of a first playthrough, but it's crazy how easy it is to get 2 shot by random mobs, and stuff like the rats (pre-nerf) or the underwater turrets are more threatening than a lot of the bosses. The ending B boss also being able to legit 1 shot you with two of their attacks unless you have ALL the def up stuff on is pretty ridiculous imo
I'm playing on 1.5 in everything. Honestly I would put the enemy HP and Damage up to max, but nothing passed 1.5 increases the fragment bonus, so I figured it wasn't worth it if I wasn't getting anything for it.

I would recommend a minimum of the default Hard difficulty cause anything less wouldn't be enjoyable. But really all at 1.5 feels almost perfect. Maybe turn the enemy strength to 2 and keep their HP at normal if you want the fights to be more challenging but don't want them to take a long time (keeping everything else at 1.5 still gives the max bonus that way too).

I haven't played Ender Lilies in a looooong time, I feel like I remember it being a very easy game, but just not sure enough to really say confidently.

I went with the hard preset, except with enemy hp at 1.2 and that felt pretty alright.
Enemies do way too much damage on even normal. Even trash mobs like the lab rats do immense amounts of damage and it made exploring unenjoyable. Also it's weird how it starts easy, it gets very hard midgame and easy again end game. You don't get a lot of crucial skills and skill upgrades until way later on.
From the start of the game until about the halfway point, I had it set to custom.

basically just enough to get the max fragment bonus. It was fine, almost a "glass canon" type of gameplay.

Had to drop it down a bit about half way tho lmao got a lil too much for me. Still kept it a bit above normal tho.
Enemy HP 2 Enemy attack 1 the rest 1.5, the game was very fun, the true last boss took 2:40 hours but enjoyed every try, on the other hand Luiseach was like pre-nerf consort radahn :)
from central stratum onwards, the only thing comparable in terms of bosses is Ulv

if it spams, spam parry with an offensive carapace, it trivialises them, very fun too
aside from them rats of course :stimulation:

I'm playing on hard and it feels about as difficult as lilies. But im in the early game, heard it ramps up in difficulty.

What is the point of gathering fragments? Are there any achievements for it?
No achievements, mostly just fashion and concept art unlocks
i personally played most of the game on normal difficulty only reduced health totals and reduced attack frequency later on cause no.7 kept beating me into submission.
everything set to 2x, its harder than ender lilies(i found ender lilies to be way too easy for my liking) but not that bad because the counter is really op in this game.
my first 100% playthrough i had everything set to the max 2x except for hp left at 1x and attack at 1.3x since i did not want to spend twice as long killing enemies and getting one shot from enemies that already do almost one hit kill damage.

second 100% run purely normal and wow i breezed through it both pretty easily and much quicker, though that could've also been attributed to how i knew where to go now and how to deal with certain enemies.

Normal for my first playthrough and hard for my second. I'm not seeing a massive difference between the 2 in terms of difficulty . Enemies can 2 or 3 shot you on either difficulty.
I started on hard and switched to normal about halfway through. Typically I just pick one difficulty and stick with it. It was decently challenging even on normal for me in the later sections of the game. I enjoyed the bosses a lot though I think some of the enemy damage is bogus. Like if you fall into one of those yellow lazers from the mages you could take 3 ticks of damage like its a single hit and die. So its not technically a one shot but might as well be. Things like that got annoying. Solid game though overall I much preferred ender lillies. Better atmosphere, music, locations and characters imo with less dialogue.
played on normal and it felt like just the right amount of challenge without being too annoying

still died quite a bit to some endgame bosses, you still take heavy damage from getting hit
