Some pro tips - As a farewell

Im retiring from playing naruto games so I've decided to share some fairly high level tips to help you style and maybe help you get better at the game.

These are some of the techniques I use to play rank and have a winning percentage of about 95% on rank with over 150 battles.

1. You can cancel combos to grab or tilt by instant awakening. When you flick the stick to instant awaken in the middle of combo, right away do tilt or grab. This is helpful to end the combo faster into an animation if your opponent is about sub or get his sub backs.. Sometimes you turn around and catch them with tilt or grab if they sub.

2. Everyone probably knows this by now, you can counter-attack (parry) an incoming dash. When someone dashes you, immediately press block and shuriken button, and as soon the dash makes a contact with your character, the counter attack will freeze him or stun him.

3. You can stop the dash by instant awakening and instantly turn into a tilt or jutsu. Madara's (re-animation resolved) is perfect for doing this as his tilt lasts pretty long. If you are back dashing , instant awaken to stop it and counter atack or jutsu or tilt (whichever is faster for your character) or even just simply hold guard.

4. when you dash keep your eyes on the opponent , you can stop the dash right infront of them if they try to counter attack you and do your uj if their counter attack didnt hit you, they wont be able to sub. Also counter attack doesn't work on jutsu, shuriken or grab. So if you dash and stop, do your jutsu and they try to counter that, they will just get hit with your jutsu.

5.You can ninja move to the side in the middle of your combo and do guard break pill dash. Grab them so you can breathe and restore chakra.

6. Against drive type users ,try never to dash them if they are in defensive mode. When they dash at you, respond with a counter attack or jutsu. If your character has chidori or rasegan, when their dash hits yourr guard, do your jutsu as a counter attack. If you see them blocking, make sure to call your support as your jutsu makes a contact with their guard, that will give you enough time to block . Dash along with your support to penetrate through their defense. Try to keep the battle in the air by constantly jumping during the fight, their guard types wont help them much in the air

7. Extend your combos without chakra dash to prevent getting counter attacked. Example jump up towards the end of combo and throw item tag and contiinue pressing B or circle.Some chracters have fast air combo like sasuke, itachi , naruto, kisame and naruto. Three or last hit before animation is the best time to jump and throw tag. You dont need to throw tag, just start air combo and if they are still guarding, your character will resume ground comboing their guard and eventually break through or make them use a sub.

8. Characters like edo minato, new sasuke or hidan don't need to dash after subbing to attack. However some characters move pretty far as they do combos like mifune so be wary about that. Against those type of characters you might want to dash before spammming your b or circle even if you got hidan.

9. Fake dash to prevent getting countered.

Some of these tips require you to have some good control on your character and requires you to time it well. Some characters are much stronger to use with awakening type rather than UJ. Characters that have infnite like itachi, shikamaru, sage mode kabuto, and regular sasuke have infinites that can be done by doing a regular jump so you don't really need awakening type to get long combos.


Disclaimer : I might play a match or two down the road with some good friends of mine if they ever ask. That'll happen like on a blue moon. If they release an amazing patch or something, maybe I will consider then. For now this game lacks the addicting factors that previous games had.

i used a save given by someone to get all the characters unlocked but then found out that bp was modded . I deleted it and went back to mine. I had already went through the pain of unlocking characters on ps3 and xbox 360 so i couldnt arse myself . Tell me the number of times you ever beaten me? That's right.

Unfortunately I do not play as puppets. However I know some of the top players on ps3 that uses them. I'll ask them about it :)

I agree man. He's a great player. I fought other famous streamers like spherax and slaythe, they were okay but not nearly as good as him. They would even get salty after losing and try to cover up the loss by saying "he's just doing that and this to win" but digital never said anything if he lost but he barely ever lost to me.

It's going to be hard to find a player of your caliber. I learned lots of things from you and these tips are amazing. I didnt even know that you can still cancel your combo into grab or tilt like that.

Nah, slaythe is a good player. He doesnt take a loss happily though and I can't deal with negativity not if your on my friend list. If you have a ps3 and you want to fight good players add these people:

Sounds like someone is upset about having a counter to dash spamming (wish I had a Kappa face right here) and if you did revert it would've not left you on leaderboards.
