And additionally, are you using a Gamepad, or mouse/keyboard?
The next step would be to completely uninstall the game, including making sure you clear all registry entries, and do a clean install of the game. I recommend a third-party uninstaller to make sure you get absolutely everything.
If you're okay with losing the imported save and starting that character over again, then you can just delete the save itself first and start that specific character over with a new import. It'll be less intrusive than a whole reinstall, at least.
Just navigate to: C:\Users\<Your Computer Name here>\Documents\NeocoreGames\Van Helsing 2\SaveGame\<Number Assigned By Steam>
(The items in "<>" will be specific to your machine)
and look for the name of the character you imported on the files there. Delete the right one, and you should be able to re-Import the character from Van Helsing 1. Just make absolutely certain you are deleting the Van helsing *2* version of the file.
If the Delete doesn't do the trick, then you'll need to perform a whole reinstall.
Good to hear. I'm sorry you lost some time played figuring this out, but glad the fix wasn't too complex. Best of luck with the rest of your game!
