So wondering what references you have come across, im not far into the game just got to the mountains but so far i have noticed the following, wondering if i missed any.

- Saving Private Bryan - Saving Private Ryan reference.
- Imprisoned cannibal psychiatrist - Hannibal reference possibly?
- When you enter the secret prisons secret prison Katarina says "we have to go deeper" - Inception reference.
- When you kill birds at Thunderhead Helsing says they are angry birds, Katarina responds calling you a pig and suggestion they are just protecting their eggs. - Angry birds reference.
- When talking about a vampire Katarina says it is a modern vampire, that defies superstition and spontaneous combustion - Twilight reference possibly?
- Dr Jeckyll is locked in a prison - Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde reference.

The game is full to the brim with references to the point it ruins the story.
Oh boy I sure can't live without yet another Star Wars and batman reference in my steampunk setting. On top of that all of them are voiced by Katarina "hey Van helsing look at dat ebin maymay, look closer".
VH1 was way more subtle in this regard, at least I don't remember anything close to aforementioned examples. And Katarina didn't comentate on them.

Yeah i started to wonder if there was any references in the first one, if there is i never even noticed so they must have done them nice and subtle.
A few references i dont mind but i now feel like im running into one at least every 10-15 minutes and this is meant to be a darker more grim game where the humour does not fit it in this regard.

Hopfully the 3rd isn't so brimmed with them, reminds me of the road Borderlands took where they just crammed millions of references and memes into the sequels without trying to be subtle about it.

Now with all that being said out of the above listed ones the imprisoned cannibal psychiatrist one has been the one that was handled the best, it made sense and it was subtle, the character said it instead of like you mentioned Katarina yelling it out.
