WMVCore.DLL is missing error - can't start game

So I bought this game but can't even start it. Running it from steam does nothing at all, and running any of the game .exe (x86 or x64) results in "WMVCore.dll is missing" error..
I don't think I'm missing any redistributables, and the game installed all it had to in the first run. So, any help fixing this?

Are you on Windows 8 or 8.1 N? If so, download Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows. It solved my problem.

Microsoft keeps updating windows 10 N and in the process removing media features which contain wmvcore.dll.

to correct this:
start run winver to confirm the version of windows you have.
then download the correct media feature pack for your OS

I have corrected this 3 times now using different updates.

issue :
games wont lauch when you run it directly from steamsapps folder you see missing .dll errors.
