The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II

Van Helsing I vs II - why the difference in reviews?
I am currently playing through the first game and i am enjoying it quite a bit. I was then considering buying the second one during the steam summer sale but was a bit surprised to see such a difference in the reviews of both games. Is this game worse?

There's a learning curve in VH2 that alot of players didn't like. In order to compensate and provide a challenge to imported character, the game is harder at the beginning and unless you adapt quickly, it stays difficult. It's still basically the same game, only scaled to a higher level, but for some reason there are those who can't wrap their heads aruond the concept and adapt.

Bear in mind though, a goodly portion of the negative reviews also come from peeved users with technical issues related to El Capitan and Windows 10, which due to the new format Steam is using for review presentation, is tanking the overall review score of the game.

Thanks for the info. ;) I am playing in normal difficulty and even though i die from time to time i think it's a really accessible game. If you are having trouble just hit and run :p
Would someone mind elaborating why the start is harder? More enemies? Different combat strategies required?

Well said. It is too bad peeved players leave bad game reviews for techinal issues they don't even comprehend. Thanks for the well said post to others.

VH2 is the best game in the series. Its has its bugs that never will get fixed, crashes after final boss battle which made you to play that battle again, have buggy achievements and it had a preorder achievement that creators removed after the release of the game. The last point is the reason for my negative review for this game - ive preordered it and got a finger.
