it would be awsome if there was an outside but hes fining every excuse to stay but there is nothing els to look at. also in the trunk he finds a jewelry box and pick it up and keeps it, i was wondering if there is a way to open the jewelry box. And if anyone else reads this pls dont be mad that i dont know im just not used to these types of games.

Try sitting at the table again after getting the Jewelry box. You will open it there.

After you get the jewelry box, sit at the table and click your mouse to the right of the picture on the blank area of the table and he should put the box down where you can interact with it. Also, a helpful tip is to use the space key when stuck because that will highlight the items/areas you can interact with. But don't press Escape because that will exit the game. :-)

Keep playing. The game advances in stages (even though nothing obvious changes) and after it has advanced enough, you'll be able to open the chest.
