Vault of yendor ?

I finally got the rune of death with a barbarian ogre. First time in a lot of attempts. But there was 2 portals in the last level, but no vault of yendor. I got back to the temple of shadows, and died there.
Did i miss something ? Where is the vault located ? It was not in the room where i got the rune of death. Did the game bug ?
Apparently i cleared 60 % of the dungeon.
It's a fun game. Really addictive.

There are three runes. Two are at the end of each branch, and one is on the "main path". At the end of each branch, there are portals that will take you back to the main path. At the end of main path, there is the door to the vault, which requires all three runes.

It seems pretty common that new players get confused by how branches work, so I hope the game adds some better explanations in future updates.
