You tube adds are cheap, and they are driving traffic back to their own channel which offsets some of the cost.

Since they have not announced a release date I'm guess it's still 6 to 12 months out. Maybe more if something goes horribly wrong in testing.

Yeah it’s not just ads on YouTube it’s on all social media platforms. I also suspect a near release date. Maybe mid January. Based on information like 5 years of development, Sean saying no repeat on NMS hype. But I could be wrong, it just seems weird to ramp up ads without some sort of goal or release.

The Last Campfire was announced at the 2018 Game Awards and was released in August 2020. But I do not recall when they started running adds for it.

To me, the ad footage makes me thing the release will be pretty soon. Not a year away. They said they aren't going to hype it up like NMS, way back in the day, so I'm betting it's close to a release state. This is just my guess.

Yeah I’m seeing LNF ads everywhere;
YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, etc.

Even saw an ad on basic cable. It was a shortened version of the trailer, cut down to 30 seconds.

Ads have nothing to do with it "coming out soon."

Anyone can buy an ad for a thing, years before it comes out.

If it was going to come out "soon", the trailer would say "2024" and the web page for the game would have WAY more information, including that it would be on Xbox Series and PS at the very least.

The LNF homepage, as well as the Steam page for it, makes me think it must be years away; so I'm thinking more like 2025-2026.

So far, their games have been 2-3 years away from the time that they first announce them.
