Spirit of Sanada is just a title Koei rushed alongside Nobunaga Ascension to capitalize on their collaboration with NHK for their yearly historical tv drama.
Sure, it technically has more characters than DX, but this really doesn't matter when the vast majority of them either don't appear in the story (and there's no side mode to make up for it) or are stuck to a single side-story battle.
Sanada picks one of the 12 clan stories from SW4, extends it to a full game with tons of padding (gathering materials is especially tedious) while somehow completely fumbling the writing too.
The second part of the game is borderline offensive for how much it ruined the story.
What this also means gameplay-wise is that you'll be stuck playing as the same handful of characters (mostly just Yukimura) for the whole game, the full roster of characters will only be able when you want to replay the battles you've already beaten.
In Spirit of Sanada (SANADA) , only about 20 character have plot. the other 40 guys are just an enemy who appear 1 time or less. The level up system is the hardest and boring thing, you need to "collect" some material on a farming map. escort the npc who is 50 IQ. And the plot only focus on Sanada clan. The level system exhaust me, i never play the 2nd time although the story was good.
How hard is the level system? the max level is 99, and you need to reach 30 to unlock the ALL MOVE-SET.
YOU NEED ONE HOUR TO FARM EXP TO REACH JUST LV30. and there has 60 characters.
It has the best story and the gameplay is modern but before it got ridiculous with the magic of Orochi 4.
The best warriors spinoff is Sengoku Basara 4: Sumeragi.
Capcom for the win :)
For Sanada on steam, you will need really good PC hardware to maintain 60FPS in towns.
Minimum 3070 Nvidia RTX and an i9 CPU.
I don't think they did a good job optimizing the PC port.
However, I would rate SW4 second best so you can't really lose either way.
