Contractors Showdown

initial thoughts on showdown exfil
I came to this game from Tabor. Still play it at times. The game play in exfil is pretty good. My biggest gripe is how newer players are introduced to being hazed basically for the enjoyment of a few people who seem to dominate raids with superior gear and feel almost untouchable to lower level players. I can't see how that fairs well for people deciding to tell other people to buy exfilzone. "Hey buy this game so you can get destroyed repeatedly by people who have an insermountable advantage". The thing is, there are things that could be done to circumvent this issue, but then there wouldn't be enough lemmings for the hardcore people to kill. Basically I think it's a fun game, but I won't be playing much until they whipe the game. Even if i have decent armor and an ak74u it's not even close to being a match even if I catch someone off guard who is kitted, they can just tank the damage, turn and blast me in the head.

I have stopped carrying any gear into the raid at all. I just take a pistol and a crappy bag. You may get me, but it's going to be a waste of time. Mostly I look forward to scavenger runs simply so the AI isn't going to constantly give away my position. Pointing me out to people who know the game so well they can tell you where every spawn location is and how long the respawn timer is on scavengers.

It would be one thing if it were even possible to sneak up on AI and break their necks like you can in tabor...but in this game you can't even punch someone. So even the argument that I can take out the AI is worthless because I have to give away my position and the spawns are so close that often times you come under fire shortly after you get in the game.

I had one game where I saw someone literally in the first 10 seconds of being spawned, we followed him got the drop on him but it didn't matter because he was geared out and practically invulnerable so even though he was caught completely by surprise he still had time to drop my friend get a needle in his arm and drop me despite me bouncing 4 7.62 rounds off his face...he was literally digging in his bag when I started shooting and he still got to his gun and domed me.

I know they feel like they need to give their existing players an advantage so they can beat off to the replay footage or brag to the 12 people watching them on twitch...but it's going to destroy the player base. Because as a new player at this point in the wipe, I feel like i'm wasting my time even trying to improve because it's not a skill issue it's a gear issue and there is no way in hell I can catch up when I die in 80% of my raids.
Get the scorpion, cheapest 9mm, and aim for their legs or arms. You wont be able to pierce their armor with anything less than m995, and even then its inconsistent.

You can also do ARs with mk255 and also aim for the legs (or face)

I also recommend hunting for players as a scav, aiming for their legs as well. If you can get their kit you can sell it for a ton of money to afford even more scorpions.

Do the ARK missions asap. It doesnt take that long to rank up to m995 ammo. Its a 1 shot against most helmets.

Glad youre moving from tabor. This game has a learning curve, but once you learn it, it makes tabor impossible to play.
I do agree though, the armor is way too overpowered. This game would be way more fun if the armor scaled with the 5.56 ammo instead of the 308 ammo
Well the game very interesting. I completed almost all quest and all upgrades, and bunker full with lvl5 gear.
But for some strange reason i have less fun in this game than tabor. I don't really like the maps and guns. As if maps were created without a thought. Silo and Underground from tabor have more thoughtful design. And guns feels all the same. Like we have tens variations of AK, and i could not really tell the difference. In AR field situation a little better, but still.

I have more vivid sensation of Tabor guns. I often experimented with different weapons in Tabor, including the cheapest. And the sound from the guns is better in tabor. It have many pleasant guns or interesting guns.

And fighting here somewhat meh. I don't feel the umpf from wining. And loosing just annoying here.

I tried lately Tabor, and it junky mess that hard to play, i hope Tabor's devs will fix the game(lol, they don't)

I wish that Exfilzone has Shopping from "Favorites". I hate organizing a new gear each time.

And limit in kiosk is only 50kg. A few times my fully packed backpacks was destroyed by it.

And i want a medical post on the first floor.

and i want more items for barter.

and i want better sound.
I agree with everything you said except for tabor still being fun. That game lost its luster a long time ago for me. Way too unbalanced if you're not max level traders.

The guns feel like toys in this game. And need more variety for sure.

If they were to make a couple of tweaks, this would be one of the greatest games ever made imo

Well, i think difference between max traders is bigger in EXFIL. For example in Tabor you could steal the kit or find one and be fine.

in EXFIL even if you steal a kit or kill the boss, you still don't have access to normal ammo. FMJ in tabor is OK ammo. In tabor kitted players die faster from basic or mid ammo than in EXFIL.

Maybe you can farm from scavs MK318. But i don't think that is a good investment of time.

With tabor i have less hassle. I don't really need electricity to repair armor nor i need to run to second floor to heal. playing naked not that annoying because you always can find the gun with mag.

Just right now i found a lvl5 armor in tabor, and a few good attachments. However, after EXFIL playing tabor is unpleasant. The movement is rough, i always got stack into walls. Virtual gunstuck is meh. And backpack is bugged. Tabor is not very playable right now(and i don't think it would be this year).

In the next wipe i just MAX REGI and two upgrades in bunker and that's all. The easiest access to high tier ammo. sadly he don't sell armor and AK systems here not very impressive. Anything else could be farmed from Metro. I just can't afford that much time into this game.
there another feature that i remembered. In Arena Breakout you can have matchmaking with random 2 players, it probably would be good on some new map where only Three-Stacks allowed.
I can never kill anyone kitted higher than level 3 in tabor. Their weapons are OP and their armor absorbs 30+ rifle bullets. The terrain and maps in exfil give you way more options in gunfights to outplay higher ranked players and get leg kills.

The only gun that feels OP in exfil is the MCX, but you cant even buy it, you have to loot a silver cup for it, so i dont face off against them very often. I usually run the CQBR or scorpion and tallywack fully kitted players (unless they have a full faced altyn) regularly
