Holo X Break

İstatistiklere Bak:
Character tier list i guess (roster spoilers warning)
Having given the full cast a try, I can definitely say there's a tier list to be had, so I'm taking a crack at it. Placements within the tiers are in no particular order.

La+ Tier: She's basically playing a different game from everyone else
- Oh, Laplus. Ranged basic attack with zero limitation/downside unlike Botan/Koyori/Lui, and also unlike them can perform a standard combo, one that doesn't even need to hit an enemy to be performed unlike every other character in the game. Does she have a bad Power Attack to compensate? Nah, she gets a laser beam that covers her entire line-of-sight, making it one of the best ranges in the roster. Maybe bad Abilities? Nuh-uh, hers are massive AoEs that stunlock whole waves with ease if not wipe them out entirely. Just look at her smug little kusogaki face: she knows how cracked she is.

S Tier: S is for super-duper
- Nene. Being the only healer of the roster with no real drawback aside from "has less DPS options (cuz they're healing)" makes her by far the easiest character to get your first win with, and none of the HoloX cast even try to step on her toes. Her damage doesn't even struggle for it if your army of NPC helpers gets wiped out by a brutal miniboss, as her Beetle is a set-it-and-forget-it ankle biter from Hell itself that can clear any obstacle for those with enough patience for mashing the dodge roll. The only scenario she struggles in is trying to speedrun the game for the sub-50 minutes clear, which isn't exactly an issue unique to her either.
- Chloe. Her combo finisher is downright massive in size, and her Abilities both just function better than most everyone else's due to coming with either super armor or outright invulnerability. Her Power Attack being a bit inconsistent and shorter in range than most is her one major downside, making her somewhat struggle with catching ranged enemies outside of hunting them down with her broom charge, but that's where a good Baseball and/or Pebble stack has you covered anyway.
- Koyori. Her basic attack is straight up doodoo, and her first ability is pretty inconsistent...but her Power Attack absolutely carries after that awful first minute of throwing impotent toothpicks. Her Power Attack covers a massive cone, and at baseline can inflict Poison to cripple everything in sight. If you find a Clock accessory for her (and heaven forbid a Snow Flower Pin to change your Poison to a Freeze), you can shotgun status ailments through entire enemy waves without a care in the world.

A Tier: A is for alright
- Botan. Her and Lui are probably the only characters in the game with a genuine learning curve, as they are heavily reliant on kiting enemies around and avoiding the actual melee scrap. The huge range on her shots makes her great at handling ranged enemies if she has NPCs/friends to draw the melee enemies away, and her group clear isn't too shabby either with her grenade. She mainly excels in duels against minibosses/bosses, having all the range in the world to keep herself as far away as she wants and still be able to take potshots.
- Lamy. Her Power Attack and Ability 2 come with a baseline ability to Freeze, which is definitely powerful. However, her overall range is a bit shorter than most other characters for it, which can cause trouble if you can't find that Clock accessory fast enough. Unlike Koyori, her Power Attack only covers a thin line-of-sight shot, so she still needs careful positioning even if she does find that Clock to enable rapid-fire Freezing.

B Tier: B is for bruh
- Polka. The game is pretty up front that she does a bit of everything...but most everyone else does too, on top of having an actual strength to their kit. Polka is basically who you pick when you haven't unlocked HoloX yet and don't want to think about the playstyles the other 3 girls come with and just wanna mash buttons instead. Definitely makes a fun multiplayer teammate with the constant supply of field weapon bludgeons to mass unga-bunga with, though!
- Lui. Botan honestly just does the gun character gimmick better: Lui trades off a piercing bullet Power Attack and a grenade AoE for...melee range whip and klutzy-tumble attacks that don't synergize well with the whole "kiting ranged character" plan, leaving her lacking in good ways to handle the large mobs chasing after her. Her ability 2 is a nice momentary power trip, but it leaves you a sitting duck not only to charge up the ability, but to actually fire that infinite clip. Living and dying by Ability 2 is not a great place to be.

C Tier: I can't even think of a pun, just help her de gozaru
- Iroha. Basic combo from Polka/Lamy/Nene, Power Attack is among the shortest in the game, Ability 2 is functionally useless after Stage 1 with how short-ranged it is on top of how vulnerable you are for the entire thing to []i]any[/i] interruption whatsoever...her Ability 1 being decently strong and fast is about all she has going for her, but it is once again a short-ranged move. She's trying so hard to be a melee-specialist, but has nothing but downsides to show for it. Chloe does it all so much better than her that it's just baffling. please send buffs papa kay yu i beg

Overall enjoying the game, but hopefully the girls will eventually get some thorough balancing to have their own unique playstyles and strengths.

After trying everyone, here's my personal tier :
La+ Tier : La+
S Tier : Everyone in HoloX
A Tier : Everyone in Gen 5 except...
B Tier : Lamy, I just can't get her to work, seems like she's the only one purely designed for support play. How do you even clear the game solo with her?

Lamy How solo?

Build her speed up a bit so she can run away fast enough to charge her Ability 2 and Power Attack for freezing, and then rely on items for half of her damage because her melee is too slow for large and fast groups if they're not frozen.

Iroha OP guide:

Luck > Crit > Damage > rest
Lamy head piece
Kronii accessoire
bodypiece doesn't really matter, pick the dress that gives you atk above 80% hp idc

How to play: Charge your normal attack over and over to permafreeze everything. Freeze the boss, then use your charged ability on a boss and watch them go half life from one attack.

Disclaimer: This is 90% a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but along with Koyori Iroha has the best area coverage with her charged attack (out of those I have played, no idea about Polka) and I just almost 50 minuted a run with that tactic so it's not too far off to think this is viable.
La+ feels deliberately OP. I think that usually happens when a game lets you play as the final boss.
this man put polka in B tier shes at least a A tier her ability 2 is destructive also lets be honest the mmmm PAH animation adds more points
Judging by the date I'd like to assume this is an April Fools troll comment but laplus at the top tells that its genuine. In my personal experience Iroha is a top 3 character in the game and chloe koyori and lami have been the worst, I can't clear with them at all
Just found that Lui has a pretty broken combo

Basically get the idol outfit and the item that reduces cooldown for ability 2

You will have a wave clear for almost every fight, and for harder enemies you can aim-ult them and still clear waves.

Ability 2's cooldown is very low already, temporarily removes her bullet cooldown, and makes her attacks auto-aim, so you can just stand somewhere safe and fire (she'll fire diagonally during it as well)

Ability 1's cooldown and damage are very good too, but it's harder to aim.

She basically relies on spamming abilities, pretty much just used items in later stages in the brief times where nothing was up.

Her bossing is okay, but I took that one speedrun guy's suggestion and just mumei dagger'd the bosses once I had a good supply. Her ultimate is excellent because aside from aiming it, it does damage them while they're down. There was one occasion where I even skipped a phase on Boss Lui.

There's something really funny about La+ being the most op character, considering how smol she is, but well this is anime rules, actually what am I saying, thats quite common.
If you use Polka on enemies with super armor, her damage output is maximized with her ult, and with Jem Headpiece her 1 gives you 2 chances of greater damage output + super armor + dropping coins or inflicting status (that is if you ever get those specific field weapons).

her punches are almost useless, so mostly use items on bosses like owl's claw.
her charge attacks are too slow to execute so you need Time Ring. I think it's a must have item for her. It's sad that her own Flower Hairpin has no effect on her ... . it doesn't even give her 100% freeze rate

early game pray that you get luck equipment so you can get better item/equipment drop.
late game, hopefully you have a decent luck by now, so keep grinding until you have items/equipments that can defeat the boss.

Definitely agree Lamy is a little weak.
My tier list, mostly from a solo perspective. In parties, not knock down is not as good and lack of it is better due to boss dpsing:

S tier, can function well with basically any gear build and doesn't need items to cover any weakness in particular. Choosing these characters is basically a free win (unfortunately, you have to actually win once to use either of them lmao):

Koyori. Weak slow ranged attack (ironically not a problem at all on hard mode since you start with everything unlocked) but more than makes up for it with power attack spam that has natural poison just in case you didn't want to show up Lamy. Seriously, she can go the entire game just with power attack spam and win easily, it's just that insane, but she also has good skills. Skill 1 is awkward to use outside spawn camping but the damage is great and puts a stop to projectile enemies. Skill 2 has ridiculous range, longer than the screen, and will one shot up to medium toughness enemies (like katana or pipes) even without attack investment and with attack investment will wipe anything that isn't a miniboss. Ult locks enemies in place and is independent so you can keep spamming power attacks during it. This is the character I did my sub 50min run on and the first one I beat hard mode on.

La+. Detached combo, average power attack, both skills are aoe wave clearers that also lock down bosses, and inflict burn in the case of skill 1 providing further damage. Ult can hit multiple times but not quite screen wide clear.

A tier, few weakness which can be made up for with items. Can make use of all gear but certain gear especially elevates the character. However, a skilled player can still clear fairly easily without those gear or relying on items:

Nene. Healer privilege. She's nothing special but she keeps followers and players alive, which by technicality makes their dps hers when they would have died otherwise (you try reviving players during a boss, it is not easy). Well, I guess her power attack is really good. Not spammable like Koyori's but the range and reach are really good. If her heal did damage like her ult, she'd be S easily.

Iroha. Spawn camping specialist. Her combo is average and power attack is slightly below average since it has no knock down. What makes her good is her ability to wipe out one side of a wave with either of her skills, especially skill 2 which can kill even minibosses. Skill 1 also seems to have shorter than average cooldown. Additionally, her ult is really good, even hitting offscreen enemies. What holds her back from S tier is skill 2's lack of armor making it extremely risky to use mid wave (at least without gaki dress), and her power attack's lack of knockdown (which can be sort of addressed by using snowflake).

B tier, more than one weakness which may not be made up for elsewhere in their kit or has a lack of options compared to higher tiers. Benefits from some gear but can't exactly make good use of all gear. May need to rely on items in dire situations:

Chloe. Opposite Koyori. Ridiculous range on combo finisher but power attack suffers. Unfortunately, unlike Koyori, she can't just combo finisher on demand constantly. Skill 1 is also pretty meh, bad even. The armor is nice and technically it has long range but the hitbox itself is small and it tends to push enemies out of the way making it difficult to get the full damage out of it. Skill 2 is strong but does not knockdown so it leaves her open to counter attack. Ult is a screen clear, not much to say about it. If the projectiles on her power attack pierced or it charged faster, or if her skill 1 only pushed enemies forward instead of away so it's easy to chain it, she'd be bumped up.

Polka. Average combo but above average power attack thanks to knockdown. Skill 1 is meh unless you really like field weapons and sometimes you do get special ones like barrels that give money so she can get above average item levels. Skill 2 is really strong though and can possible wipe 2 waves due to its duration. Her ult is really good dps against a boss that decides to do a long super armor move like Lui's hawkeye or Koyori's assistant beam. Even when they don't it is completely invincible and lasts ages and doesn't knock down spam like Lui's. She is in B tier because her only wave clear is skill 2, which isn't a problem that can be solved really due to the nature of her skill 1. Maybe if field weapons themselves were buffed from number of hits to number of swings (that actually hit something).

Botan. Gun combo which isn't great but at least better than melee combos. Her power attack is also good with long range and knockdown. Skill 1 aoe is a little lacking but does pretty good damage and the cooldown is decent. Skill 2 is great dps, if only it didn't knockdown halfway through so it never achieves half its total damage. Her ult seems strangely weak damage wise but does at least hit the entire screen. The main problem here is skill 2's knockdown and the damage on her ult, if either were changed for the better, she'd move up within b tier if not up a tier. Also, if her skill 1's hitbox was a bit bigger so it could reliably hit everything in front of her.

C tier, Many weaknesses which can't be compensated for fully to reach the power of higher tier characters or needs certain gear and will certainly rely on items at times:

Lui. Another gun combo like Botan. However, unlike Botan, her power attack is melee and doesn't knockdown making it a severe downgrade. Skill 1 recharges fairly fast and the damage isn't bad just like Botans but the range is lacking and it has no armor making it a bit unsafe to use. Skill 2 is what makes her a one trick pony. Besides greatly boosting her shooting capability, it also greatly charges her ult as long as you are actually hitting targets. Her ult however is a bit lackluster. The damage on bosses is good, except in parties where you are denying everyone else the ability to attack for the 10 or whatever seconds you spend shooting since it always knocks down (at least you can shoot the boss while they are on the ground). Additionally, the damage per shot and movement speed prevents the ability from screen clearing before the boss. Finally, let's not forget the skill drops you right where your crosshair is which could land you right in front of an angry boss. So outside her one gimmick (skill 2 charging ult) she's a strangely disjointed character, a gun user that wants to be up close. If her power attack charged faster, maybe even as fast as Koyori, and/or her skill 1 had armor on it, I would bump her up a tier at least.

Lamy. Melee combo with nothing special. Her power attack takes longer than other characters to charge meaning she needs meatshields or speed or charge item to pull it off mid wave. It does have natural freeze at least, except taking advantage of that is a big ask when you need to be away from enemies in the first place to pull off the power attack without risking interrupt. Skill 1 is a bit awkward to aim as it does explode on contact but if it misses it goes very far and the hitbox for the explosion is a bit small, especially if you hit the enemy in the front of a crowd. At least it recharges fairly fast. Skill 2 is strong damage wise and almost always freezes anything that it hits. This is her main selling point. Finally her ult covers a massive area and will usually freeze enemies if not out right kill them. The problem overall with her is her job (freezing) can be done by anyone else by using the snowflake (god help you if you have Koyori on your team and she decides she wants to be you but better) and additionally when her skills are on cooldown, her fallback options are very weak while everyone else can spam power attacks or combo safely. If she had Chloe's combo finisher (bottle shatters?) or her power attack charged faster, she'd move up.

If we're talking about solo runs, their standard kit, and ease of use then imo it would be this order:
(S) La+ & Nene
(A) Chloe
(B) Botan, Lui, Koyori
(C) Polka
(D) Lamy & Iroha
