Do subscribers do anything?

So after finishing a run, I got subscribers based on likes/dislikes(??). Do subscribers have any actual effect? I thought they'd maybe be currency for a shop that gives you permanent upgrades, but I couldn't find anything like that.

Likes = enemies killed
Dislike = Hits you have taken(I think)
Subscribers = Score

I gathered that much, but I figured that since you seem to collect subscribers (they show up on your Pause Menu) you could spend them on something.

Likes are gotten by also dodging attacks at the proper timing.

Dislikes are knockdowns you have taken. You can get hit as many times as you want as long as you aren't knocked backwards and onto the ground.

Seems to be only for visual stats at the end of the run. There is an achievement for getting less than 100 dislikes at the end of the run.

dying (and resetting at a checkpoint) gets you lots of dislikes too

You need 100,000 subscribers for the achievement but other than that it's just your score I guess
