Official news about 2025 versions
Hello everyone, sorry for the radio silence these past few months, I'm typically monitoring the Steam forums but have been super busy lately.
The 2025 versions will be available on Steam soon. In the past, we've usually "released" the next version early, even if the first big update was a month or two later. This year, the release of the 2025 versions of our tools will coincide with the first major update of Painter for 2025, in March.
In the meantime, any update between now and then will be covered by the 2024 license.

The version on steam is still 2024, if I buy it now will I get a full year of updates for 2025? Or do I have to wait until 2025 is released in March to purchase it?

Im pretty sure if you buy it now, you will only have access to the updates until the date when the new version releases in March. I'd just wait and buy the 2025 version if I were you. At least then you'll have a full year(or more) of new updates until the 2026 version.

Yes, you'll want to wait until the 2025 is available.
Wait so that mean once the 2025 release we'll need to pay for the full price but got less update just for 9 months instead of full 12 months like usual, Better gave use 12months update till march for 2025 or it won't be fair for 2025 user.

Well if Painter 2026 also releases in march then technically you will get 12 months of updates too.
Hi, do you happen to know if the price for the program will stay the same as the 2024 version or if it will differ?

Will there be a discount for users who own the past version?

The reason they're delaying this is probably because the marketing department themselves gave the order because they're really excited to show something new that they're cooking which can be cool but I'm cautiously optimistic that it's gonna be something AI related which would be lame. I don't like AI for design because its too "general" to give you the vision that you want but there's a huge push with AI lately with adobe so it's like 80% gonna be something like that.

They should have added a VR mode so I could paint models while lying on my bed with VR glasses.

Yes there will be perpetual versions of the 2025 apps.
Thank you, I was waiting for a statement from someone on the team to decide whether or not I was going to get the 2024 version
So would like to start using the Painter now and not wait for the 2025 supposed release update in March. If i purchase 2024 now will i still have access to it after the 2025 update so I can use 2024 longer unless the updates are just amazingly crazy and worth a repurchase OR is 2024 locked out upon the 2025 update release?

The license is perpetual and once the next major update releases support for 2024 on Steam will stop. If you want to start using SP right now you could start a trial on Adobe's website and later buy 2025 on Steam for $200. Files you've created with the trial CC version will be compatible with the Steam version.

"buy 2025 on Steam for $200" so, a 100% price increase? Whoa. I brought the first version for $29.90 and it was waiting for the $99.90 painter 2024 and the $99.90 designer 2024 to be on a sale. Do you have a source of that prices? I think I rather buy both 2024 versions today if that's true.

?
2024 was $150 for the first few weeks and then it was raised to $200. 2025 can be expected to follow that pattern, potentially w/o early bird pricing.
Can't check SteamDB at the moment, but Mexico has regional pricing for Painter I believe, so keep that in mind. If it's $100 for you right now then 2025 will be likely the same.

Hello. Can you tell me if the release will be at the beginning, in the middle, or at the end of March?

yeah, it seems i have a region adjustment, and i was still in the edge. now that i know it's cheaper than in the us, im more inclined to buy 2024 now and 2025 when it launches, back in october when they said "soon" i had already missed the sale for 2024, this way i can wait for a sale when "soon" arrives later this year.
