I have no idea how to dodge in this game
I feel like I'm unable to dodge anything in this game, I'm probably just missing something but it's starting to get a bit frustrating.

For example dodging a basic axe dude is fine, but if I'm fighting two at the same time I won't be able to dodge the attack of both by vaulting unless their attack timings line up exactly. Should I just run away instead of trying to dodge/vault?

Most enemies are fine to fight 1v1 but groups get frustrating, I feel like trying to dodge often locks me in the animation for so long that I get hit by another enemy anyway. Should I just not vault as much and jump more or something? Again I could just run in/out of a group of enemies instead but that doesn't feel very fun to me.

Any tips?

I see you play a bit more than 1h, so lot to learn. Most important mechanic is to control the enemies. You can kick one to another to stun both, It's rather dangerous trying just to kill them like it was hack and slash game. Invest in Skill Tree to get Dive Attack to break Protective Auras that give enemies resistance for the kick. Use the Dive Attack a lot to get rid of their shield. Try to use enviroment as much as you can, kick them off the ledge, to traps etc. The fall damage for enemies is huge here.

For the Vault, you just need to learn when it's good timing so the i-frames will work.
For the kick, you can also use it to deflect arrows with it. (arrows and bombs)

There is a dodge but it's a bit more situational than in other games, making combat flow very different from something like Dead Cells. But I have not played enough to judge the mechanic fairly yet.
On the OLED its top right or left trigger. Same thing as deadcells except he flips over them instead of sliding under them. If no enemy is around pressing the button will make him do this weird skip thing forward. So there is a dodge but it's just different and well agravating, not gonna lie. You can also crawl across the wall with the opposite trigger button which also acts as a dodge of sorts, sometimes. It seems harder than Deadcells but it isn't, it seems like this one is more geared towards grinding to unlock upgrades, deadcells wasn't like that so much.

-There is Dash 💨 in the game.
-If there is enemy on the way, Prince perform Vault.
-Vault has i-frames.
-Dash trigger cooldown, but Vault doesn't. (so you can perform another dash after vault that of course can be vault too.)

Whole logic of the mechanic.
