Most, if not all, keys will be given to whoever hosts a game when it loads up.
The only way I've been able to remove quest items which are no longer necessary, aside from starting a new game or having a new player host the game, is to hex edit the save file to remove them manually.
For long and thorough games, the section of the inventory dedicated to quest items will overflow with no in-game way of players removing those items. The devs should either increase bag space or store quest items in a manner which does not detract from regular bag spaces.
I wish I hadn't bought it either. It's a blatant, disgusting moneygrab that they didn't even bother to get rid of the bugs, while still going with the inferior MMXII class system.
