tl;dr
no. they made the multiplayer work, but didnt actually fix any of the game breaking bugs, complete lack of direction, functionless skill levels, terrible AI, or broken quests. this is the last version, mmxxii or whatever the hell it was, with a functional multiplayer lobby. its just someone tryin to milk this piece of crap for more than its worth for like the 6th time.
it WAS on sale on GoG as mmxii, but i guess when they added muliplayer they decided to up the price by 10$ and remove mmxii.
This version <=> Collector's Edition version
Magic/Leveling/Class system were changed for the worse, graphics are now improved (still suck, c'mon it's 10 years old...), comfort functions were added (better Interface, hotkeys and such stuff), randomized loot is quite interesting, stuttering during mob spawn was reduced...
If there was a bug in the old version... it's probably still there, they mostly fixed the crap they added/changed in MMXII. However it's playable (runs quite smoothly for me) and way better than the last MMXII version, but to be honest I'd wait some weeks until grabing it and see if the developers now actually care for their game and fix stuff or if they abandon it once more...
And bugs, Bugs, BUGS. ohh :)
I have to say i been meaning to replay this for ages, the CE had some nice stuff but i remember ppl complaining how stuff didn't work.
over all, if this is as fun as the original with fixes that work i would recommend it with a 50%+ sale..............it may not have been perfect back then but it was really fun to explore.I think dream catcher was the original dev/pub for this,oh well.....i think under 10$ it's still worth it.
I will most likely get it when it's like 5$, thats my cap for older titles that i liked.
this version has at least one bug that was ONLY present in the very first itteration of the game. this is NOT a modification of mmxxi. it is the very first version of the game with a graphical uppdate. and anyone who says they enjoyed this game is an outright liar.
False. My brothers and I have thoroughly enjoyed every iteration of this game and are ecstatic that its release on Steam is bringing further improvements.
It is kinda lame how many times I've had to buy roughly the same game, but this version is easily the best once the multiplayer crashes get ironed out and I in no way regret the purchase.
I enjoyed a lot my play and even replayed it once. The real problem of the game was to be released with some unfinished elements, most bugs was fixed with patch but not the missing elements. But the gameplay has many good points.
