Light

Welcome to Project Light.
Synthesis Futuristics Welcomes You.

This thread is just a quick guide on how to kick butt and be awesome in the Light community hub. If you’re looking to get involved with the Light community, these are some good places to start!

Discussions
Discussions are exactly that - one person starts a new discussion by asking a question or making a statement and the rest of the community respond to it. Here’s some tips on how to start a really active discussion:
Make sure you follow Steam’s Discussion Rules and Guidelines.

Always use the Search function to see if anyone else has already started a discussion on a similar topic before creating a new one. Find it in the top right of the discussions tab.

Stay on topic. The topic of this forum is Light and you can discuss anything related to it. Discussions about the complexities of toenails, or how to train a cat to do backflips, shouldn’t be posted here. Try Reddit instead.

Within the Discussions board are a couple of sub-forums to help with troubleshooting and bug reporting.

Report a Problem
This sub-forum can be used to report any issues that you might have with the game.
Pinned to the top of the forum is a help thread with some common solutions and an explanation of how to report a new issue.

Solved Problems
This forum will house all of the threads which have had their problems resolved.
It's always worth taking a look in here if you have a problem, as the solution might already be available.

Screenshots, Artwork and Videos
If you whack the F12 key whilst playing Light on Steam, you’ll take a screenshot of whatever is on your monitor at the time. Once you finish playing, you can then choose to upload those screenshots to the community hub. DO THIS! LOTS! We’re always on the lookout for amazing screenshots for our Twitter and Facebook pages, and we’ll always give you a shoutout if we use your content.

If you have images that you didn’t take in-game, but are still related to it, you can upload them to the Artwork section of the community hub. We check this weekly too! Just remember that the Steam mods will smite you hard if you upload anything your mother would frown at, and the Team17 mods will smite you harder if you upload anything that offends the Concrete Donkey – so keep it clean for the kids please!

Finally, if you do YouTube, you can upload your fancy moving pictures to the Videos section of the community hub. You’ll need to link your YouTube channel to your Steam account first but, fear not! Steam have written a handy guide on how to do that here.

Speaking of guides…

Guides
The Guides area of the community hub is for, well, guidance. If you know a heck of a lot about Light and want to share your knowledge with players old and new – head here and make your expertise open source!

Reviews
The Reviews area of the community hub is your place to voice your opinion about Light. Would you relentlessly recommend it to a friend? Or would you put it on a plinth and set fire to it with a flamethrower? However you feel about the game, write an open and honest review of it here to help others when deciding whether or not to buy it.
P.S – please don’t try the flamethrower thing at home.

The most important thing –
The best thing you can do to kick butt and be an awesome member of the Light community is to play the game. We always hope you have the best time when playing a Team17 published game, so from everyone here in our UK offices – have fun, play fair and be excellent to each other.

Love,

Danny_Team17
And the rest of the Team17 & Just a Pixel Team!
