Crash on startup

Hello!

I saw this evening that Industry Giant 2 went on sale. Great! I used to really love playing this game. So, I picked it up straight away. I have a desktop and a laptop, so I started by downloading it on the desktop. On first time startup it downloaded a paid of items and then started just fine. Ah, the nostalgia! I was stoked!

Then I attempted to do the same thing with the laptop. I downloaded it just fine, but on first time startup, it didn't download any further items like it did on the desktop, but instead immediately went to a black screen followed by an "Industry Giant 2 HD has stopped working" message box. Bummer! The laptop's not a bad one and this game out to run just fine! It's a stock ASUS X551C. Please let me know if there's anything you can do to help me out. Thanks!

Try compatibility with Win 95. Everything above wasnt working for me. But Win 95 finally did it = )

Hi @ all, Our developers are looking into this issue already. There is currently a workaround with the compatibility mode but this is just a quick solution. We will provide an update asap.

Same prob here. black screen and crash stright away after starting game. dont have the compatibility 95 or 98win. no one of the other works. I even went looking for my older laptop. spent some hours downloading and messing around, but no results. I hope you fix the problem steam. @UIG

Win 95 compatibility worked for me, so thanks SnowDuck. I had another CTD in the first campaign on easy when the popup of 'new vehicle available' appeared. Don't know whether or not I should make a new thread for this.

I have the same problem, but in a DELL Inspiron 14 3421.
I suspect this is a problem with the intel hd graphic driver, i had a very similar problem with fallout 3, but fallout have a mod to correct it.
It really sucks for me because i don't have a desktop, and i will not have one for another year at least. If the problem is not fixed in a few days i will have to see into returning it.

Same issue here and compatibility mode does not fix it. Also not sure about that Intel graphic driver since I have an AMD graphics card.

Having the same problem and run as 95 version compability and adminstrator permissions did not work for me. It is DISAPOINTING!!!!! Hope UIG solve the problem still TODAY!!! Cause I bought the game to play NOW not the next week or so. Thanks

worked semi-well yesterday (with compatibility mode and no HD resolution). Today, it just crashes. Here is the errorlog if it helps:

why continue selling this games with this kind of bug ?

compatibility mode did not work for me too, if the devs want the error file or the dxdiag file, just ask...
it's a shame, but i will have to refund this game till sunday night if it doesn't work until then, and i'm being a lot more patient than normal, normally i would refund the game in the spot if it didnt work.
