IG2 Editor (Download included)

Since UIG has slowed down and hasn't disposed the editor as of yet, I'm sharing with you guys the editor from the retail versions which works with steam version as well (so long you copy the other 2 .dll included). Copy the contents of the .zip to the root folder of the game. The official manual is also included.

But it doesn't let you load game maps to modify, it's build from scratch. Maybe if I rename a map file?

It uses the save folder as root, if you copy one of the maps to there it will be avaible for you to modify. One thing to note is that basically a map is a save file, or I shall say, you're editing a blank scenario at 1900, if you test and save it, it will be considered a start file not in 1900/1/1, becareful with that.

Google it. It might show up some results from nordic/jowood forums but there should be very few custom maps made. The community addon mostly has adaptations from older ones not entirely new ones. I've once tried to do a map myself from scratch it isn't an easy task and is quite lengthy if you intend to do something decent.

What do you mean? So far nobody has complained of it not working and I just tested and download works.
Oh I see what you mean, what program you using to decompress? Any should work though. I personally recommend 7zip. Or try the alternative file I uploaded.

im useing winrar but normal winrar and 7zip are almost the same :/

IIRC, WinRar doesn't always recognize .7z archives properly.

I tried to start it up. But it asks then to choose the resolution ... but the drop down is empty. If I click "cancel" it stops working. Any idea ?

Hey ... the unzip works fine. When I start the program it starts till a point where I'm asked to choose the graph driver (Microsoft Graph is the only available) and to select the resolution (empty dropdown). Afterwards I can't continue

Hmm, it used to work on earlier versions of this remake. Try running the editor on compatibility mode for WinXP or older.

When I start the editor, it crashes after choosingn the graph driver / resolution. In the error log I see the following. Any idea ? please HELP !

Regarding the message above: i tried various settings of compatibility mode. I even installed win xp on a vmware instance
... always the same problem. Can anyone help ? Please !!!
