Restockers don't recognize overstock from normal stock...that's your duty as the manager to make sure you don't have overstock, and to care for it when you do. I have two labeled shelves per item (more for things like chicken, toilet papers, diapers, ect), and now with the new ordering system, it's extremely rare I get overstock. I keep two shelf units of non-labeled shelves close to the manager office. That is where my guys put accidental overstock despite having a few empty spaces of unassigned labeled. During the day I watch the overstock, I'll take it to where the assigned spots are and consolidate, or I'll take it to the floor and restock as product is taken. We have to have something to do or the game would be too automated and boring.
Can you explain the 'new ordering' system?
You can remove the label from shelves with the price gun by right clicking on that specific shelf.
The newer ordering system, I believe, requires one of the upgrades. You have a tablet and can go around to your empty spaces and click on it to add it to the list then click the action button (default E) to buy said products.
So at the end of the day, I set everyone to restock once all the customers are done. Once they are fully done restocking I will set them all to storage, I will then go through and select my empty spaces with the tablet, buying the items as I go. Once done my shelves will be fully stocked both out on the floor and in the storage room. No extras, everything in its place.
