Product placement strategy on shelves

Does anyone know if customers choose products on higher shelves more often than on lower shelves, or it doesn't matter?

If its the same product one the shelve they take the lower row first. For example if you put down 4 times the same item they go from bottem to top in empty it. If you do a 2/2 split they take the lower row of that type.

If you mix severall items doesnt seem so to me, but they tend to like some products more then others thats all, no matter where its placed.
