Lockable Storage Spots
Is there any way currently to lock empty slots on your storage shelves? I am getting to end game and spent a long time organizing my storage room. When I place a $10k order to restock and have employees set to the storage position they will just place stuff anywhere there isn't already a box. For example. I have a shelf specifically for all types of soda, and there will be an empty spot dedicated for X type of soda, I order that soda but instead of placing it in the empty spot already dedicated for that they will instead take the soda to an empty unclaimed spot on my shelf for soap etc. It would be great if the AI would prioritize spots that are already dedicated for a specific type of product or if we could lock those extra empty spots on shelves so the AI would be 'forced' to take it to the spot already assigned for that type of good.

yes there is, you need to use the normal storage shelves, not the unlabeled one, then youll label all the spaces you want to be for that product by placing a box of that product there

Yes, I am using the labeled shelves. I have shelves for each type of product (one for soda, one for pasta/rice, one for cereals etc). My Issue is that if I have a few spots open on the soda shelf for example I dont want the AI storage workers to place random stuff on the empty spots. They will ignore already available spots on shelves that are specifically for the product they are carrying and instead place the box on a random empty spot. I want the ability to lock the empty shelf locations so they are forced to put the box in the correct location.

We will check this, employees should prioritize the labeled spots for a product over anything unless we broke something in the storage update...

Thanks for the reply, I think I found what was causing the issue. If I purchased supplies throughout the day, and had employees set to both storage and restock, the storage employees wouldn't place the items in the labeled spot because the restock employee was carrying the box from said location in their hands so the storage employee would throw it in an empty random location. The ability to lock locations just to keep specific shelves free from random overstock being thrown places would still be a great feature! I just finally completed the entire tech tree, great game you have made!
Edit: Oh wait, they are doing it properly, it just looks weird with the label disappearing and re-appearing when the boxes are moved.

I found this by online search and am also having issues with the restocker ai just putting boxes in random places messing up my hours of organizing... I'm just on my 2nd employee so all I want them to do is restock from what I've got in the back. They'll take a box, restock, then either throw the empty box out (kinda sucks but I get its part of the game) or put it away in some random empty spot. Yes I have the labelled ones.

Not sure if this is the same case, but i experienced something similar before:
My setup is that i have used labelled shelf in storage and preassigned 1 row of 2 slots for each and every product. Further to that, I have a few unlabelled shelf for spare spaces.
If I ordered more than 2 boxes of a product, those excess will first go into the unlablled shelf, but if theres no slot available in unlabelled, staff will try to clear the delivery area & start filling in those assigned ones, and causing it to override the preassigned.

This may be very minor thing and could be fixed with more unlabelled shelves, which will then needing more and more spaces.

Just may be worth noting to the devs
