I think they should just add an option to drastically reduce (or maybe even eliminate) the chance of thieves appearing for any difficulty. I could be wrong but my opinion is that most people would rather focus on running the store, stocking shelves, and doing whatever else they add in to the game later than chasing thieves around. But, that's what options are for and why there should be one. Everyone wins.
I don't know why people keep posting this, it simply isn't true. My registers never, as in literally never, have more than 1-3 people waiting at them. I have two, this is true for both of them.
The developer posted that customers have a 4 percent chance of being a thief once you hit level 27...this is the high point, with a lower chance at lower levels. But at ALL levels thieves can make an appearance regardless of how many people are at your registers.. It happens whether you have seven people at your register, or zero. In fact, I've never had a single register backed up to max capacity, not once. But I've had 100+ thieves.
