Self checkout not really worth it :(

At a high level almost none of my customers use the self checkouts and even with 3 registers i still have a lot of thieves. Have 8 self checkouts down and they only use 4 of them

depending on the difficulty level I have noticed thieves often come after someone make the floor dirty and they stop comming as soon as you clean the floor (or if your store is too expencive, they stop if you bring prices down)

I have the prices at double and before the self checkout update had no issues other than an occasional thief. Right now ill have like 5 thieves at once

I added 4 self checkouts and went from needing 6 manned registers to 4 because so many of my customers were using the self checkout instead. I love them, even if they do increase thievery by a little bit. Ive got enough security to handle it. I was able to free up 2 of my employees to do other things; I sent one to be security and another to restock.

Maybe mine is bugged cause if i have more than 4 the extras dont get used

is it worth to have self checkouts in terms of gain, though? i've noticed that at the end of the day i make less than what i'd make without self checkouts, even if that means having 6 employees busy with checkouts TT plz let me know I AM DESPERATE

Yeh they have a max of 14 items If I recall correctly

Nah dude we had a customer who had more than 22 items in the self checkout

With a perk that's possible- but without the perk 18 was the max before this.

Basically, where any customer that has more then 6 items but less then 18 (which is max amount of items a customer will have that can use the self checkout) has a chance to steal a random item in there cart. Looks like theoretical maximum amount of item's they could steal is 3 of their 17. No where do you see this in-game, but looking @ the code for self checkout's it simply removes the random items from their cart and from their total before they pay.

Also note only customer's that pay in credit card can use self checkout, and then only customers that have between 6 and 18 items.

Checking the code look's like the perk adds an additional 4 to the maximum, 22 is the absolute max one could have.
