I really don't understand why the game is free, it scare me -.-
I can't talk for the devs as I'm not one of them but in regards to the game being free. I presume the developers are new, want to learn from feedback and improve their game as they probably feel it's not in a state to charge for yet and it would have been more detrimental to charge for a buggy game than provide it for free and then release light paid DLC later on to help with development costs. In fact, it's actually a smart idea.
I have played both solo and with friends. It's fun both ways but Solo can get a bit overwhelming as you cannot pause the game yet or close the shop mid day to take a moment's break. I presume that will be updated in the future hopefully.
