Unable to click the join store

My join store button is greyed out and any attempt to start a friends only server would only result in the clipboard giving me that it's in private mode

The only case in which this can happen is that the game identifies that Steam is down or you're not connected to Steam. The game needs Steam services to organize and connect to lobbies.
