When you start the non-steam SRS2012 game, it asks you for the license key code, you have to put the key that gives you steam there (srs game installed steam - you have to go to game properties and copy the key)

You have to go to Steam Library section > Ski Region Simulator > right ring gear icon > Manage > product keys

I think I didn't understand the question! However once you copy that key you have to close steam completely, even the icon near the windows clock. Then you can go to myGames documents and rename the folder relating to the game, so you are safe, now open the other installed srs and you will be asked to enter the serial number, put the one you just copied, when it has started you can close it. Now reopen steam and start srs from here, the key is automatically reactivated and you're done, you will no longer have to start the no-steam game
