I hope Team17 will give an explanation how to create a functional server ...
I can host & join other players games.
And do you have private IP adress so everybody can see you from internet or your IP is shared with other users and you have just local IP adress ? If you have local than you need to call your ISP and ask him if he can open those ports and route them to your IP adress.
Hosting WWP game is not like hosting other multiplayers games where you log on some server and you just create game and server handle everythink. What i think, WormNET2 is just server like IRC for talking and see the games. But for hosting game, you need to be connectable (open ports and private IP or hamachi).
Step 1: Port forwarding for the Ports 17010, 17011, 17012 (UDP & TCP) to your computer.
Step 2: Then check your external IP...for example on: http://whatismyip.com and note it down (my IP address changes everytime, when my computer is in idle, so i got this to do, almost everytime I start wwpr^^)
Step 3: Click in WWPR on Multiplayer, then Wormnet Configuration
Step 4: In the configuration, check the box "Force IP" AND enter the IP adress which you have noted down from Step 2.
Step 5: Now you can host a game :D
