Hosting through Gportal, never had this happened before the recent updates - I've followed this video thoroughly.

I can join but he can't? Please help

Usually that red button is signifying either a version mismatch or Mod list mismatch. You might compare what version your friend is using against what version your host is using. Then make sure mods are not being used and causing the incompatibility.
