VR - Version - Fully Supported and Optimized.
I would pay $60 for access to a developed, optimized, functioning copy of ATS VR
I have VR, a wheel, and a shifter. Every patch is a nightmare to get smooth VR experience.
Its all there. Its fantastic when it works. I drove for 3 nights straight and it was "fine". Tonight its back to tearing when moving. Its absolutely so infuriating. I have 5 hours since 1.53 just in settings. No driving.
PLEASE!!!!! FOR THE LOVE OF TRUCKING GIVE US VR!

It is not officially supported and certainly not a priority for SCS to do.

I'm asking for support. In exchange for money. As a product.

And that won't happen anytime soon.

If you have setting problems.... those would not vanish even if you would pay for an extra vr Version of the game.

If its supported, thats what that would mean. Support of the function with optimizations of the protocols and coding.
I dont understand why you aren't understanding the premise here.
Is it a language barrier?

And what you need to understand is that the VR branch is only handled by one employee in his spare time. While it is usually updated for patches within a day or two, sometimes it's a bit longer.

So, as Wolfgang said, VR is, and has not, been a priority for SCS Software currently. Especially when it barely makes up a percentage of the Steam userbase according to Steam Survey's, which isn't even the entire Steam base anyway because people do decline to do those. (I'm one of those)

Short answer, SCS have data on how many players use VR and that will inform their decision making on official VR support. So far there is no sign that they will make it official.

Current VR players has nothing to do with potential in the state it is in. There is an exponential proponent if they would focus(and charge) for development.
The amount of energy expended to say its impossible, is nauseating and pathetic.
Wolfgang Dec 12, 2024 @ 3:06am
No one said it is impossible. It just is not at all a priority of SCS currently.

The fact that according to the Steam Survey less the 2% of Steam users have VR headsets would play a factor in whether to support that potential market.

With the latest Steam Hardware survey, people who did the hardware survey about 1,75% reported having a VR setup. Which when you compare to the total amount of users Steam has world wide, is relatively tiny.

Latest known monthly active user count worldwide is about 132 million, so of those 132 million, 1.75% have a VR setup, which is about 2.3 million users.

So unless a game is made from the start to have VR capabilities. Then a developer/publisher is not going to waste time and resources, implementing VR into an already existing game if the market is not there for it.

Just to let you know, I use VR with both ATS and ETS2 without problem. It is fantastic. So, the problem seems to be related with various setups of hardware. I just happen to have a setup that "works". So, hopefully, you will be able to return to a good VR experience eventually.

Im not sure how valid the Steam Hardware survey is for extra external products such as controllers, wheels, and VR headsets. I do not usually keep my controller plugged in, and I never keep my wheel or VR headset plugged in when I am not using them. Because of this, the Steam Hardware Survey says that I do not own a Wheel or VR Headset, while I have both. That being said, VR users are still a fairly small group.

I just changed the CPU from 5800x to the new one 9800x3d with much higher performance of 1 core. On my old cpu in the cities, there was a bottleneck and even solid 72 fps wasn't achievable. Now 90fps is no problem, DLAA mod, supersampling as high as on the Quest 3 I can see any difference. As a VR user I can fully recommend x3d cpus from AMD (7800x3d should also do an amazing job in this title). I don't think ATS/EST2 will be upgraded to a new engine, which will utilize more than 1 core, therefore, you want to have as powerfull 1 cpu core as possible. If you want exchange money for a better vr experiece, upgrade is the solution for more than just 1 title

I use VR myself. I have no issues. ... On your case if it was good a few days ago and now it's not, more than likely it's in your settings. what vr headset are you using. and cpu and gpu and vram. Most issues come from trying max out the graffics. The grass ,shadows. taa, and scaling is a big fps killer and tearing .NO need to use someone else vr setup because there setup is for their system not yours. So it maybe work for their system not yours. You can also go in the config file and adjust. It just sounds like you something too high. ...Also make sure gpu drivers are updated
