Wasnt 1.51 supposed to fix performance?
I thought the SCS devs said this update would improve performance yet i'm still getting rubber banding even without mods and no vsync

Nope. You don't list your specs so crucial information is missing.

This is how I have my game set up.

Open Config.cfg in Documents/American Truck Simulator. Open the file with notepad and make the following changes:

uset r_buffer_page_size "30"
uset t_averaging_window_duration "240" <-- set to your monitor default refresh rate
uset t_averaging_window_length "120" <-- set to double the fps that you want to run. 120 is an example of setting the game to 60 fps.

Would also help to know what CPU you are running. How much RAM? Is the game installed on a mechanical hard drive or a solid state drive? Mechanical hard drives are not that great for this game because of how slow they are with data transfers.

Been trying the game out and it seems to run significantly smoother now ( still small bumps every now and then but much better ). Thank you

Same problems. FPS drops randomly after last update. It was so smooth before, no its just some lagfest on any settings. GJust great performance fix... :nogo:

No issues on my end. Lower your settings to be more in line with your hardware.

Can not reproduce on my end with an i7-11800H, 16GB RAM and RTX3070 Laptop GPU on high settings. Lower your settings to something appropriate to your hardware.

I have to say I'm in the same boat...my rig can't handle anything after 1.49 without problems....I'm currently on 1.48 with no issues at all...400% scaling and everything on HIGH except mirrors....It's good enough for me...I just want to drive and chill with nice looking graphics...not fight with the settings just to get it to run. SCS is doing great things with this game no doubt, but the demands are really high for your PC or gaming laptop...I'm not going to upgrade my 5 year old Y740 Lenovo for a while ...so I have to be happy with what I've got.

The difference this made for me is bananas. I took a break for a very long time but despite my setup being modest, I didn't feel like it was trying to use my hardware. Like didn't look good enough to still be lagging type performance... running into walls and crap on the faster highway parts and junk tearing all over the place.

I just drove ~1.5k in full zen mode and was just perplexed how the default settings were so horribly bad for me. I feel like I got a free computer upgrade honestly.

THANK YOU.
