Severe Weather
Please incorporate more of weather system. Lightning and Severe Storm Warnings etc. It really adds to the immmersion especially in VR. A Tornado would be a bonus.

No thanks.

It surprises me to see that there are some in here who do not want the weather system to change. Too many previous threads here have been about us getting seasons into the game so we had all four seasons, and occasionally also driving in snow and on slippery roads.

Personally, I would like to see this, but of course it should be made so that those who don't want it can turn it off in Game Settings, since we all play the game in our own way.

Yes I know there are mods for weather systems and we have snow in parts of the Promods.

Believe it or not, there are so many different kinds of players in this community. Different play styles, different preferences and so on.

Some player want it "as hard as possible" (bad weather, a lot of traffic, steep grades and so on), some want to replicate real life (walk mode, lots of tedious things to do before hitting the road, and even food and bathroom needs), others play for relaxation or escape from a hard/difficult reality.

I am one of them who play for relaxation and escape. In my play world there are always nice weather (I don\t like IRL rain either), scenic roads and so on. Other players's play worlds look different.

I know that there are diffrent player here, it's just the first time i have seen someone who siad they didn't want seasons in the game. Therefore i also say if they should add it to the game, it needs to be a option so you can turn it on or off all after what you want.

I use Brutal Graphics and Weather mod ... it has some good lightning storms at night sometimes ... but even though we're getting ready to head into "tornado alley" (Oklahoma/Kansas) they're not going to incorporate that into the game with property damage and such ... would probably ruin their rated G for the game.

weather effects make things fun

While I would love to see more road affecting weather outside of heavy rain I highly doubt SCS has authorization from tire and official truck companies to add such things. But in terms of tornado damage, we will likley see some once we get to dixie alley due to the amount of trees there and how long it takes for nature to rebuild forest.

i think they should add the aspect of wind, not blow the truck over, but just so there's a little more realism

It is really beyond my comprehension why some people are reluctant (right down been closed minded) to the addition of features to enhanced the game... while at the same time SCS are so far (from all the updates we had) really understanding about the need of all, by including a ton of settings to enable or disable MANY functions so all can enjoy the game they way we want.

For me, I certainly would like a enhanced weather system. High winds (with proper truck physics implemented), flooded roads (forcing us to take a detour or risk going through), etc would be nice addition.

Remember that Scania Truck Simulator had flooding in it and was certainly a nice addition in my humble opinion.

I would like to see a bit more dynamic elements. Random events got old pretty fast and the detour aspect was a complete debacle but things like weather could play a part in making journeys more varied and challenging. The game sometimes feels a bit too pristine with smooth roads so mixing it up with something that can add that little extra immersion would be welcome as long as it was implemented well.

The fact we haven't got snow yet means we probably wont have anything like this anytime soon if ever though.

This is certainly something that mods have been doing lately. A saw a picture of a tornado posted by the devs for the upcoming Oklahoma DLC. We already have tumbleweed in the game but no wind as yet.

I have no idea how or if SCS intend to expand on weather ferocity as I suspect a lot of the younger gamer's don't like driving at night or in the rain as things exist today. Some better variation would certainly be welcome.
It would be nice to have a more dynamic system to be honest. Could be adjustable in menu or something for people who don't want it. Would be cool to drive across Midwest in extremely high wind making the trailer wobble back and forth a bit. Would have to exercise more caution. Or seeing thunderstorms in the distance slowly approaching toward you over time. Good immersion for timescale. Or seeing more responses from NPCs. Police chasing someone speeding down road instead of always just sitting behind a car as usual. Some variety is nice.

Or driving through city and seeing a building spewing smoke and hearing approaching sirens in the distance. Earthquakes and mudslides, Vehicles struggling in tire deep flood waters. The possibilities are essentially endless! Honestly I am not expecting it to happen because it would take a monstrous amount of work to program a lot of that in. Not to mention if they did something like fully destructive environment like seeing tornadoes rip out trees and power lines. Or smashing building flying. Just got to throw all the eggs in the mods basket for the future I suppose.

Implementing that wind actually is a factor could be a start

Possible achievements for such a mod or game update:

- Drive within 750 yards of a Category 2 or greater tornado's eye during a delivery.
- Have lightning strike ground within 100 yards of your moving truck during a delivery.
- Drive at least 200 miles on snow-covered roads during a single delivery.
- Survive an avalanche within 100 yards of your moving truck during a delivery.
- Be hit by falling rock.
- Slide 50 yards or more on an icy road with brakes locked.
- Drive at least 100 yards over ice-covered roads during a single delivery.
- Be struck by lightning during a delivery.
- Have a minimum of 3 inches of rain fall as you are driving during a single delivery.
- Drive at least 10 miles through gusts of wind up to 60 mph.
